Midstocket Matters is Community Magazine of the Month!
M&M Media partners Judy Mackie and Allan Montgomery have won a prestigious national award for their new community magazine Midstocket Matters.
The My Mag UK Community Magazine of the Month award was presented to the Aberdeen-based business after the magazine was judged to have made a valuable contribution to the local community.
The award was presented by Sue Botterill, founder of MyMag which has inspired the launch of more than 700 community magazines around the UK.
Midstocket Matters, distributed each month to around 2300 homes, local businesses, schools, community centres and other organisations in Aberdeen, was recognised by the award for its quality content, design and layout.
Editor, Judy, commented: “Having written about the great social investment work being done by our corporate clients, we wanted to make our own small contribution to the community. Launching a local magazine seemed the ideal solution.
“Over the last eight months we have worked hard to develop a publication that reflects the needs of our Midstocket community and we have been rewarded by a tremendous show of support from readers, advertisers and sponsors. The My Mag award is a much-appreciated added bonus.”
Midstocket Matters includes regular features catering for a wide variety of ages and interests, with a particular focus on neighbourhood planning, community council matters, health and wellbeing, food, local history, puzzles and community education.
Bill Cormie, Chairman of the Rosemount and Mile End Community Council said: "Midstocket Matters is a quality publication and is excellent at keeping everybody up to speed with what’s happening in the area. It makes very good community reading. The people I speak to locally are delighted with it and look forward to seeing it every month.”
